The meeting was called to order at 9:28 eastern time.
Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the May 2nd meeting were approved without objection.
Reports of Officers
The President, Justin Mallone, had no official report.
The Vice President, Larissa Price, reported that the article she was writing for her school newspaper was coming out the day after the meeting, although it was going to be sandwiched between ads and a MADD/SADD drunken driving article.
The Secretary, Oliver Traldi, reported that membership had been dropping since the previous meeting.
The Treasurer, Susan Wishnetsky, reported that she had received documents authorizing ASFAR to conduct business in the state of Illinois.
Reports of Committees
The zine committee reported that the 'zine was 12 pages long, beautiful, and had been posted on the web. Susan mentioned that she was trying to find a way to convert the zines into PDF files so that anyone could print them out off of the web.
The advertising committee reported that the online bookstore had been redesigned to make it easier to add books to ASFAR's library of youth rights material.
Old Business
David SJ reported that he had received a reply from Chris Hansen regarding the amicus brief in the ACLU lawsuit.
Matthew reported that he was beginning to write the letter to the Gilbert family. He also mentioned that he had received no reply from any political comparison web sites regarding youth rights as an issue.
New Business
After some discussion, David SJ decided to implement an encryption system for email on the asfar.org server and also a way to backup ASFAR's site in case of emergency.
The next board meeting was scheduled for June 6, 2001, at 9:15 pm eastern time.
The meeting adjourned at 11:38 pm eastern time.
