Minutes of ASFAR Board Meeting of June 20, 2001

The meeting was called to order at 9:35 eastern time.

Approval of Minutes

There was a motion to edit the minutes of the June 6 meeting to change a sentence which read "The Treasurer, Susan Wishnetsky," to "The Treasurer, Susan Wishnetsky, had no official report." and then approve them. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

Reports of Officers

The President, Justin Mallone, reported that he had performed an interview with the magazine Y-Press.

The Vice President, Larissa Price, reported that she had gone to her local police station and protested the efforts of police to kick kids off of a public street during times not regulated by a curfew. The police promptly ceased doing so.

The Secretary, Oliver Traldi, had no official report.

The Treasurer, Susan Wishnetsky, had no official report.

The Webmaster, David Schneider-Joseph, reported that he had added 11 new books to the ASFAR bookstore. He also mentioned that four books had been ordered through ASFAR's bookstore and one web hosting account had been ordered through an affiliate link on the ASFAR webpage.

Reports of Committees

The zine committee reported that they had received a few submissions for the upcoming issue and that they were in the process of converting earlier zines into PDF files for easier viewing.

Old Business

There was some discussion of the issues of moving the mailing lists off of Yahoo! Groups and of making a more restrictive announcements list. David SJ reported that he had contacted ASFAR's hosting provider about options for mailing lists on-site.

New Business

There was a motion to remove information from our website about a now non-existent campaign in Racine which had been intended to get rid of the curfew there. The motion was seconded and passed.

There was a motion to remove information from our website about a now non-existent campaign in Minnesota to lower the voting age there. The motion was seconded and passed.

There was a motion to replace "What we oppose and why." on the link to the Declaration of Principles on ASFAR's website with "What we stand for." The motion was seconded and passed.

There was a motion to remove information from our discussion list archives which could be detrimental to certain parties in court proceedings. The motion was seconded and passed.

The next board meeting was scheduled for July 9, 2001, at 9:15 pm eastern time.

The meeting adjourned at 11:25 pm eastern time.
