Minutes of Board Meeting of October 29, 2003

The meeting was called to order at 9:15 pm eastern time.

Reports of Officers

The President, David Schneider-Joseph, had no report.

The Vice-President, Oliver Traldi, was not present.

The Secretary, Susan Wishnetsky, reported that Webmaster David Schneider-Joseph had taught her how to update membership records in the online database, enabling her to handle "unsubscribe" requests. She had identified a number of promising locations for chapters and demonstrations, and promised to contact the people in those areas to facilitate local organizing. She further reported that some new members had joined before the annual ballot was issued but had not received a ballot because of her delay in adding them to the announcement listserv, and asked if she could e-mail them ballots individually. There was general agreement from the board.

The Treasurer, David Schneider-Joseph, reported $139.78 in the PayPal account, $56.41 in the Amazon.com account, and no book sales since the last meeting.

The Webmaster, David Schneider-Joseph, reported over 30,000 pageviews in October, about 5000 above average. He regretted that he was still behind on posting the last two issues of Youth Truth.

Reports of Committees:

For the Zine Committee, Susan Wishnetsky reported no submissions and few ideas for the next issue. David Schneider-Joseph encouraged everyone to contribute news items, original writings or artwork.

For the Demonstrations Committee, David Schneider-Joseph moved to schedule a meeting of the committee for Saturday, November 15 at 2 pm. The motion was seconded and passed 4-0.

The next board meeting was scheduled for November 26, 2003 at 9 pm eastern time.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:10 pm.
