A talented, dedicated all-volunteer staff is the backbone of ASFAR. Volunteers are responsible for everything that ASFAR is and does; volunteers perform research, help new activists and new chapters get started, publish our magazine, and much more. ASFAR is presently looking for volunteer staff positions in communications, national fundraising and development, local and regional development, and legislative and policy affairs. That said, if you have a talent that we haven't named already, we encourage you to tell the President, and we'll do our very best to bring you in.
Communications
ASFAR is looking for media help and a communications specialist to help get information out to the media and to different areas of ASFAR. ASFAR has 1300 members in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and abroad, and the communication areas will grow as ASFAR's membership and activities grow. You can contact the President for more information, or to apply for the position.
National Fundraising and Development
ASFAR is looking for a fundraising coordinator to develop and manage fundraisers and donation drives for ASFAR. While anyone is welcome to apply, the most qualified candidates will have some experience in fundraising and/or managing groups of people. Students in finance, business, or a related field are especially desirable.
Local and Regional Development
ASFAR is looking for regional directors to support new activists and form chapters in different parts of the United States. Regions will be determined annually based on membership, in order to ensure that all regions have roughly equal caseloads. This is an ideal position for someone new to nonprofit leadership, as it involves a little bit of all the areas of ASFAR's operation as well as direct leadership of roughly two hundred ASFAR members. You can apply online, download an application form or contact the President for more information.
